BMW M3 GTR Straßenversion

The unicorn of unicorns. Truly a mythic homologation car. Only 10 were produced but nobody really knows if the units were actually sold and where they are now.
The BMW M3 GTR has to thank it's reputation it gained from the ALMS race series as well its appearance in the Need For Speed: Most Wanted (2005) game. In order to be allowed to participate in the ALMS series BMW needed to produce at least 10 road legal cars that use the exact same engine as the race version. Thus, BMW introduced the BMW M3 GTR Straßenversion. The limited edition of the M3 E46 featured the P60B40 V8 engine from the race version, but obviously de-tuned in order to make it road legal. Other changed were made on the exterior such as replacing the front and rear bumpers as well as the hood with carbon fibre parts that shared the same aesthetics as the race version. It even shared the exact same headlights as the race version. The interior has been stripped down to feature only the most essential stuff.
