Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX "Scorpio" [NEED FOR SPEED: Carbon]

When I modeled the Need For Speed: Carbon Kit for the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX back in summer (https://www.artstation.com/artwork/mzLJJY) it was very obvious that two special versions had to be remastered as well. Kenji's Lancer and the infamous Scorpio Boss.
The Scorpio Lancer is a rather mysterious car and only appeared outside of the career mode of Need For Speed: Carbon. It was said that the Scorpio Boss single handily conquered the first areas of Palmont CIty with their legendary Lancer. Afterwards the "Scorpio" Crew was founded. However, in a fight against another mysterious opponent, the yellow Challenger Concept, the Scorpio Boss slipped and crashed into the infamous Canyon yellow barrier as seen in the intro of NFS Carbon. This led to the defeat of the legendary Scorpio Lancer and the crew slowly ceased to exist, because they had no leader. Though, it was rumored that Kenji was incredibly inspired by the performance of the Lancer and decided to switch to a very similar looking Lancer when switching to the Stacked Deck crew in endgame.

The process of the model and livery was fairly simple. First I obviously modeled the kit and made it ready as it is in-game. Originally I tried to stay accurate as possible by making the bonnet flat without any vents. However, after a long debate and even trying the stock bonnet, I decided to put on the same bonnet that Kenji uses. Flat bonnet made no sense because the Lancer needs an air exhaust for the engine. The stock bonnet looked awful with the livery and Kenji's bonnet fit well after a few adjustments (Subaru and Lancer fans, please don't scream at me for using this bonnet)
After the modeling process was done, I exported the model into Rizom in order to make an UDIM out of this model. The goal was to make each large part have its own UDIM tile, so that I could have 8k textures for each part. After UVing I exported the model into Substance Painter, set it up to handle UDIM and then started to paint. Some parts of the livery were vectored in Photoshop (I know I should've used Illustrator or Affinity Design, but neither were installed!) and then applied as decals in Substance Painter. Some places were challenging to do, especially the rear section (trunk and rear bumper).
When finishing the livery, there were a few more small steps left to do: The car paint material. Since this car is supposed to be special I decided to create new materials from the ground up featuring a very special car paint material. The metallic silver consists of a base material and then very small flakes with a random colours. The colours were taken from a pool of selected colours (Silver: light purple, light blue, light green, light grey and white; Purple: purple, light purple, dark purple, violet)
You can spot the different colours when zooming into the last render. A small detail, which is not visible in studio shots, is that the car paint has very small bumps all over the place that make the reflections look a bit distorted when looking at it very up close. This was spotted on a real Lancer and thus decieded to replicate this effect too
After everything was done, all that was left was the rendering process and the studio setup was done with HDR Light Studio and off the rendering goes.
